This Privacy Policy explains how RankPotential (“we”, “us”, “the app”), operated by Excelbipro, collects, uses, shares and protects your information when you use our mobile application and website. By using RankPotential you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address, mobile number and a password (stored only in encrypted/hashed form).
- Profile & role: whether you are a student, parent or teacher, your chosen exam, and any parent–student or teacher–class links you create.
- Referral / access codes you enter or share.
Information created as you use the app
- Practice & performance data: tests taken, your answers, scores, time taken, confidence ratings, streaks, XP, bookmarks, weak chapters and analytics we compute (e.g. your Rank Potential Score).
- Purchases: credit balance and transaction records. Card/UPI payment details are entered directly with our payment processor (Razorpay) and are not stored by us.
- Technical data: basic device and log information (such as app version and general diagnostics) used to keep the service reliable and secure.
- Communications: messages you send us, and question reports or feedback you submit.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the core service — generate and serve questions, score tests, and produce your results, analytics and Rank Potential Score.
- To personalise practice (e.g. recommend weak-area or recovery tests).
- To operate accounts, credits, referrals, and school/institution plans.
- To process payments and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To improve the app, fix problems, and communicate important updates.
- To meet legal and safety obligations.
3. AI processing
RankPotential uses artificial-intelligence services (currently Anthropic’s Claude) to generate practice questions, write explanations, and check answers. Question and explanation text may be processed by this provider for these purposes. We do not use your personal identity to train third-party AI models. Predictions such as rank estimates are indicative only, shown with a confidence range, and are never guaranteed.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us run the app under confidentiality obligations — for example payment processing (Razorpay), AI processing (Anthropic), database and app hosting (MongoDB Atlas, Render), and app distribution (Google Play).
- Schools / institutions — only if you join through their access code or plan, and only the performance data needed for that programme (individual identities are not publicly exposed).
- Parents / teachers you have linked to your account.
- Authorities, where required by law.
5. Children & parental consent
Many of our users are students, some under 18. Where required by applicable law (including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), a child under 18 should use RankPotential with verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian. The app supports linked parent/guardian accounts for oversight. We do not knowingly use children’s data for targeted advertising or profiling beyond providing the educational service. Parents/guardians may contact us to review or delete a child’s data.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal requirements. You can delete your account at any time from the app (Profile → Delete my account), after which we delete or anonymise your personal data, except records we must retain by law.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted passwords, secured connections and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to any incident.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct, export or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, or object to certain processing. Use the in-app controls or contact us (below) and we will respond within a reasonable time.
9. International data transfers
Some of our providers may process data on servers outside your country. Where this happens we take steps to ensure your data remains protected consistent with this policy.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a revised “Last updated” date, and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
